The beautiful St Just in Roseland Church.
The parish Church of St Just & St Mawes
Humfrey Davis was Rector here from 1901 until 1930. He was responsible for much work in the grounds and there are windows dedicated to him and to his son in the church.
Over the years he provided the granite stones that line the path down to the church. As each stone was laid he conducted a short ceremony of dedication. Most of the texts and verses are from the scriptures, some are from hymns and poetry and one or two of them he composed himself.
There is more about Humfrey in “Introducing Marian” and you can’s help wondering if Louis Davis made the stain glass windows.
